The Museum of Carpet is looking for creative people who would like to weave Kidderminster cloth on our 19th century hand looms and speak with visitors about weaving.
Cloth has been woven in Kidderminster since the 1200s. We keep alive the tradition of weaving cloth suitable for floor coverings and enjoy sharing our skills and knowledge with our visitors.
Hand loom weaving experience would be preferred, but a willingness to engage with visitors is essential.
Suitable candidates should be:
- Available one morning a week for training
- A creative person with an interest in art and textiles
- Friendly and personable character who is happy to talk to visitors
- Able to work in a team contributing to weaving that will be worked on by a number of weavers.
